Data Stored Locally
The following information is stored in your browser using Chrome's storage API:
Personal Information (chrome.storage.sync)
- First Name and Last Name
- Email address
- Phone number and country code
- City/Location
- Years of experience
- Expected salary
- Blacklist keywords
- Resume/CV file (stored as Base64)
Application History (chrome.storage.local)
- List of jobs you've applied to
- Job titles, companies, and application dates
- Applied and skipped counters
- Running state (whether the bot is active)
Cloud-Synced Data
When you create an account, the following is securely synced to your AutoApplyMax account:
- Your profile information (name, email)
- Job application history and tracking data
- Generated resumes and cover letters
- AI credit usage and subscription status

How We Use Your Information
Your data is used ONLY for:
- Filling out job application forms on supported platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, WTTJ, Monster)
- Tracking which jobs you've applied to (to avoid duplicates)
- Displaying statistics about your applications
- AI-powered resume tailoring and cover letter generation (processed via secure API, not stored)
We do NOT:
- Share or sell your data to third parties
- Track your browsing activity outside of job platforms
- Use your data for advertising or profiling
- Store AI-processed data beyond the generated output
Third-Party Services
The extension interacts with:
- Job Platforms: LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Welcome to the Jungle, and Monster to automate job applications
- Secure Cloud Database: For account sync and application tracking (encrypted in transit and at rest)
- AI API (Groq): For resume tailoring and cover letter generation (no data is stored on their servers)
- Your local Chrome browser: To store your data

Your Data Rights
You have complete control over your data:
View Your Data
All your data is visible in the extension popup and dashboard.
Modify Your Data
Edit any information directly in the extension at any time.
Delete Your Data
- Clear all data by clicking "Reset" in the extension settings
- Delete your account from the dashboard to remove cloud data
- Uninstall the extension to completely remove all local data
Export Your Data
Export your application history as a CSV file from the dashboard.
Children's Privacy
AutoApplyMax is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Permissions Explanation
The extension requires the following Chrome permissions:
storage
Save your configuration and track applied jobs locally in your browser.
activeTab
Interact with the active tab when you click Start or use Autofill.
scripting
Inject the automation script into job application pages.
tabs
Open your dashboard from the extension popup and detect the current tab URL to activate the correct autofill features for each job platform.
alarms
Schedule periodic sync of job application data between the extension and your dashboard account.
host_permissions
Access job platform pages (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, WTTJ, Monster) to automate the application process. The extension only works on these specific sites.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top
- We will notify users through the extension if possible
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy
