AI that answers job application screening questions: 7 tools compared (2026)

Yes/no knockouts, "years of experience with…", "Why do you want to work here?": which tools answer them with AI, on which plan, and whether you still review the form before it is sent.

In short

Yes: AutoApplyMax Premium ($6.99/month) uses AI to answer job application screening questions from your profile. On LinkedIn Easy Apply the extension writes the answers and submits the application for you; on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Indeed and other sites it fills the answers in and you review them and click Submit.

Free options exist: OwlApply's free plan includes 10 AI autofills a month and JobWizard's free plan 30 "Answer it" answers a week, both on forms you submit yourself. Simplify writes AI answers on Simplify+ (paid) and LoopCV on its paid Premium Looper and Done For You plans.

Checked November 6, 2026 on each vendor's own website. Prices change; check the source links before you buy.

Screening questions come in three kinds: questions about your situation (work authorization, visa sponsorship, notice period, expected salary, years of experience), yes/no questions about a skill or condition ("Do you have experience with Salesforce?"), and open text questions ("Why do you want to work here?"). Profile autofill handles the first kind; the AI matters for the other two.

The table shows, for each tool, whether its AI writes these answers and on which plan, and whether the tool also submits the application or leaves the Submit button to you.

The tools, one by one

AutoApplyMax

A Chrome extension that runs in your own signed-in browser. On LinkedIn it opens each Easy Apply job from your search, fills every step, attaches your resume and submits, pausing when LinkedIn rate-limits. On every other job site it fills the form from your profile and you review and click Submit. The dashboard tailors your resume and cover letter to each job description and logs every application.

Better pick if: you apply mostly through LinkedIn Easy Apply, want a free plan to start, and want a resume tailored to each job before you send it.

OwlApply

OwlApply is an autofill extension: its FAQ says "It fills the application; you submit it" and that it never submits for you. It lists LinkedIn, Indeed, Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters and Taleo among supported sites. The free plan includes 10 autofills a month; Pro adds unlimited autofills, per-job resume tailoring and cover letters.

Better pick if: you apply one by one on ATS portals and want to review every form, with a cheap short trial of the paid plan.

JobWizard

JobWizard autofills ATS forms (it names Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, Ashby, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters and Taleo) and you review and submit. Its free plan has weekly allowances, including 30 autofills, 30 cover letters and 30 resume retouches a week. Paid access is sold as 30-day passes that do not renew on their own.

Better pick if: you apply by hand on ATS portals and want a generous free autofill allowance or a pass without a subscription.

Simplify (Copilot)

Simplify Copilot autofills applications "on 100,000+ company career sites in one click", and its help center tells you to click the employer's final Submit button yourself. Simplify+ adds AI resume tailoring, cover letters and Autopilot, which fills and submits on supported postings using 20 credits a week, with no review step before submission. Full comparison.

Better pick if: you apply mostly on company career sites (Workday, Greenhouse, Lever) and want a free, widely used autofill extension.

LoopCV

LoopCV runs "loops" on its own servers: it scans job boards daily and "submits applications on your behalf automatically", and it can email recruiters. Its Chrome extension ("Apply Tool") completes LinkedIn applications for jobs you pick in the LoopCV dashboard. It has a free-forever plan; paid plans start at €9.99/month. Full comparison.

Better pick if: you are in Europe, want a low-cost bot that keeps applying and emailing recruiters without your browser open.

JobCopilot

JobCopilot says it "exclusively applies to verified jobs on official company career pages", from its own systems, and that you can send up to 50 personalized applications a day. Elite adds a tailored resume per application. Its Chrome extension only autofills: you review and submit. No free plan is listed. Full comparison.

Better pick if: you target company career sites rather than LinkedIn and want a hands-off service.

FastApply

FastApply has two modes: "Apply for Me", an agent that applies for you on employer career pages, and "Browse & Apply", a Chrome extension that fills forms on 20+ job boards and ATSs (it names LinkedIn, Indeed, Workday, Greenhouse and Naukri) while you watch. Plans are sold in monthly credits (one credit per submitted application); AI resume tailoring and cover letters cost extra per month.

Better pick if: you want a server-side agent applying on employer career sites at high volume, and do not mind paying extra for tailoring.

How AutoApplyMax handles screening questions

What AutoApplyMax does not do

When another tool is the better pick

You apply one form at a time on ATS portals and want free AI answers that you review before sending: OwlApply (10 AI autofills a month free) or JobWizard (30 answers a week free). You already pay for Simplify+: its AI writes question responses that you edit. You want applications sent from a server without your browser open: LoopCV's paid plans draft answers you can review in its Questions tab.

Set it up in AutoApplyMax

Sign up free and upload your resume; it becomes your profile. Add the answers forms ask for (years of experience, salary, notice period, work authorization), install the Chrome extension and sign in with the same account. On LinkedIn, run a search with the Easy Apply filter and click "Start auto-apply"; on any other site, open the form and click "Autofill this form". More on autofill on 100+ ATS portals and LinkedIn auto-apply; ready-made wording for common questions is in our screening question templates.

How we checked

We read each tool's pricing and feature pages and its Chrome Web Store listing on November 6, 2026, and link every source in the table. AutoApplyMax facts come from our own pricing page and product. We are the makers of AutoApplyMax, so we say where another tool is the better pick and we do not rate or score competitors. Corrections: contact@autoapplymax.com. See our editorial process.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an AI that answers job application screening questions automatically?

Yes. AutoApplyMax Premium ($6.99/month) answers them from your profile: on LinkedIn Easy Apply it also submits the application, and on other sites it fills the answers in and you click Submit. OwlApply and JobWizard answer them on their free plans with limits; Simplify+ and LoopCV's paid plans also draft answers. Checked November 6, 2026.

Can AI answer screening questions for free?

With limits. OwlApply's free plan includes 10 AI autofills a month and JobWizard's 30 "Answer it" answers a week. AutoApplyMax's free plan fills situation questions from your saved profile and uses your saved answers for open questions; AI-written answers need Premium.

Can I control the answers AutoApplyMax gives?

Yes. You personalize your answers in the extension and in your Smart Profile (work authorization, salary, notice period, years of experience and your own answers to common questions), and you can change them at any time. AI autofill on any portal comes with Premium.

Does AutoApplyMax submit the application after answering?

On LinkedIn Easy Apply, yes: it fills every step and submits. On Indeed, Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and company career sites it fills the form and you review it and click Submit.

What data is sent to the AI?

With Premium, only the screening question and the relevant parts of your profile are sent to our AI provider to write the answer. Delete your account and your data is erased.

What is the difference between auto-apply and autofill?

Autofill fills the form from your profile and you review it and click Submit. Auto-apply also submits the application for you. AutoApplyMax auto-applies on LinkedIn Easy Apply only; on Indeed, Glassdoor, Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and company career sites it autofills and you click Submit.
