Mobile Developer Resume Template (Harvard): Entry level Example
Jordan Kealoha, iOS Developer Intern ATS-friendly
Jordan's strongest asset is an app anyone can download, so the project carries real weight next to the internship. His bullets show release work, a memory leak found with profiling tools and test coverage, which tell a hiring manager he thinks about stability. Accessibility work at the campus lab adds a skill many senior developers still lack.

Free mobile developer resume templates: the same resume in 3 more designs
Fatima Zahra Benali's mid-level resume again, in the European, Compact and Creative templates of the builder. European stays single-column; Compact and Creative put skills and education in a sidebar, which reads well to a person but can be parsed out of order by older applicant tracking systems, so keep them for referrals and emails to a hiring manager.
Downloads are free and need no account. The PDF keeps the exact design with selectable text; the Word file (.docx) is an editable single-column version in the same fonts and colors. Compare all six designs on our resume templates page.

How to write each section of a mobile developer resume
Header and app links
Add your name, city, email, phone and LinkedIn, then links to apps you built. App Store and Google Play listings persuade more than any repository because a reviewer can install them in a minute. Add a GitHub link when it holds a clean sample app with architecture notes and tests.
If an app was built for an employer, say what you owned on it in the experience section; the store link alone does not prove your part.
Summary
State your platforms first: iOS, Android, or a cross-platform framework such as React Native or Flutter. Employers often hire for one platform and screen out mismatches quickly. Add years of experience, the kinds of apps you build, and one sign of quality ownership such as crash rates, performance work or store releases.
Cross-platform developers should say whether they also write native code, since that is the first question a mobile lead will ask.
Experience
Mobile bullets work best when they connect a feature or fix to app health or user outcomes: crash-free sessions, startup time, app size, ratings, conversion in a flow or release frequency. Mention the framework or API in the same line, such as SwiftUI, Compose, WorkManager or push notifications.
Include release work. Shipping through App Store review, handling phased rollouts and recovering from a bad release are experiences that separate mobile developers from general frontend engineers, and interviewers ask about them often.
Skills
Organize skills by language, UI frameworks, architecture and concurrency, data and networking, then testing and release tooling. iOS candidates typically list Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and Combine or async/await; Android candidates list Kotlin, Compose, coroutines, Hilt and Room.
Keep older technologies such as Objective-C or Java when the posting mentions legacy code, because many mature apps still contain them and someone has to maintain those screens.
Education and projects
A computer science degree is common but not required; many mobile developers come from boot camps or self-taught paths with published apps. List education briefly and add a projects section for apps you own, including download links and the technical problems you solved.
Project entries should read like product work: who uses the app, what you built, and how you handled offline storage, accessibility or store review. A small app with real users beats a large tutorial clone.
Mobile Developer resume summary examples
Entry-level objective: Computer science graduate seeking a junior iOS developer role on a product team. Brings a SwiftUI app published on the App Store with offline storage, an internship shipping rider payment screens behind feature flags, and steady habits around XCTest and Instruments profiling.
A downloadable app and shipped internship work give the reader something to verify within minutes.
New-grad summary: Early-career mobile developer with Flutter and Kotlin experience from a co-op on a field-service app, where the work covered offline sync, push notifications and Play Store releases. Writes widget and unit tests, reads crash dashboards and enjoys pairing with designers on small interaction details.
Naming offline sync, notifications and store releases shows exposure to the hard parts of mobile, not only layouts.
Mid-level summary: Android developer with five years in Kotlin across banking and public transit. Leads Jetpack Compose adoption, keeps crash-free sessions high through staged rollouts and modular builds, and shares business logic with iOS through Kotlin Multiplatform. Fluent in French and English.
Stack, stability ownership and cross-platform reach are all present, and the language line helps with Canadian employers.
Senior summary: Mobile engineering lead with 11 years across iOS, Android and React Native. Leads eight engineers on a healthcare retail app, runs a weekly release train, set performance budgets for startup and memory, and writes native modules when cross-platform code falls short.
It shows leadership, process and judgment about native versus shared code, the central question for a cross-platform lead.
Mobile Developer resume bullet examples: weak vs strong
The strong versions use made-up figures for a fictional candidate. Replace them with your own real numbers, or describe the scope (team size, volume, frequency) if you have none.
Shows ownership of a migration and collaboration with design, both common interview topics for Android roles.
Crash-free sessions is the stability figure mobile teams track, and naming the root cause proves you did the debugging.
Startup time on realistic devices matters more than flagship benchmarks, and the methods show genuine platform knowledge.
Predictable releases are a team-level outcome, which signals leadership even without a manager title.
Describes the rider's problem and the sync approach, which shows product thinking alongside Android skill.
Tests framed as enabling a risky change explain why they mattered to the team.
Named platform features and an outside review make accessibility work concrete instead of a vague promise.
Build time affects the whole team daily, so this shows impact well beyond your own features.

Soft skills, and how to prove them
- Design collaboration: Describe working with a designer on motion, gestures or platform conventions, and a compromise you reached when a mockup clashed with native behavior.
- User empathy: Mention how you used store reviews, support tickets or session data to find and fix a frustrating issue.
- Release discipline: Give an example of halting a phased rollout or shipping a fast fix after a regression, and what you changed in the process afterward.
- API negotiation: Show how you worked with backend engineers on contracts, pagination or versioning so older app versions kept working after server changes.
- Mentoring: Name developers you coached through their first release or code reviews, and practices the team adopted as a result.
Certifications and licenses
- Meta iOS Developer Professional Certificate (Meta (via Coursera)): A structured introduction to Swift, UIKit and SwiftUI; useful for career changers, though published apps carry more weight with employers.

US vs Canada: mobile developer resumes and pay
United States
Mobile developer is an unregulated title in the US, and postings usually specify iOS, Android or a cross-platform stack, so tailor each application to the platform named. Health and fitness apps may require HIPAA awareness, finance apps ask about secure storage and fraud controls, and apps aimed at children face COPPA rules. Accessibility has legal weight too, since apps can draw ADA complaints. Mention relevant compliance and accessibility work. Hiring is concentrated in San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Austin, with many remote roles. Keep photos and birth dates off your resume.
| BLS occupation | 10th pct. | Median | 90th pct. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software Developers (SOC 15-1252) closest BLS category | $82,460 | $135,980 | $214,670 |
Annual wages, US national, BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025.
Canada
In Canada, avoid wording that implies a professional engineering licence, though job entries can keep the title your employer used. Federal and many provincial clients require apps in both English and French, and Quebec's Charter of the French Language affects consumer apps sold there, so localization experience is valuable. Ontario's AODA sets accessibility requirements for many organizations, which makes VoiceOver and TalkBack work worth stating. Privacy reviews under PIPEDA or Quebec's Law 25 often cover analytics SDKs. Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa and Vancouver host most mobile roles.
| Job Bank occupation | Low | Median | High |

| Mobile Applications Developer (NOC 21232) | $30.00/h | $48.08/h | $76.92/h |

FAQ
What is the best resume template for a mobile developer?
For online applications, use a single-column template that applicant tracking systems read top to bottom. The mobile developer samples on this page come in four of them: Harvard (shown with the entry-level resume, education can sit first), Modern (mid-level, experience first, a safe default for most employers), Consulting (senior, achievements in bold stand out to the recruiter) and European (fits a long career on one page). Compact and Creative use two columns: they read well to a person, but some older ATS parse them out of order, so keep them for referrals and emails to a hiring manager.
Should a mobile developer resume be one page?
Usually, yes. In the US, one page is the norm for a mobile developer with less than about 10 years of experience, and all six samples on this page fit on one page. A senior mobile developer with a long, relevant track record can use two pages, as long as page one carries the most recent and relevant roles. Canadian employers accept two pages more readily than US ones.
Should I specialize in iOS, Android or cross-platform?
Specializing usually helps early on, because many teams hire for one platform and test it deeply. Native iOS and Android skills stay in demand at companies with large apps, while React Native and Flutter are common at startups and agencies. Pick the platform that matches jobs near you, then learn the basics of the other side.
Do I need published apps to get hired as a mobile developer?
Not strictly, but a live app is one of the strongest signals you can offer, especially without professional experience. It shows you handled store review, code signing, crash reports and real users. A small, polished app with good ratings counts for more than several unfinished projects on GitHub.
What metrics belong on a mobile developer resume?
Crash-free sessions or users, cold start time, app size, store rating changes, release frequency and conversion in key flows such as signup or checkout are all useful. Use figures you can explain and source from Crashlytics, Sentry, the Play Console or App Store Connect, and say what you changed to move them.
How do I move from web development to mobile?
React Native is the shortest bridge for JavaScript developers, while Flutter suits people happy to learn Dart. Build and publish one app, learn the native release process and study platform conventions for navigation and gestures. On your resume, highlight shared skills such as API integration, state management and accessibility.
Should I list both SwiftUI and UIKit, or Compose and XML views?
Yes, if you have used both. Many production apps mix the newer declarative frameworks with older view systems, and teams value developers who can maintain legacy screens while migrating others. Mention migration work explicitly, since it shows you understand both approaches and how they interoperate.
Are these mobile developer resume templates free?
Yes. Every sample on this page downloads free as a PDF (exact design, selectable text) or as an editable Word .docx file, with no account. If you want the AI to fill a template with your own experience and tailor it to a job posting, the free AutoApplyMax plan includes 1 tailored resume a month.
